The YPJ series crawler-type tablet-crushing machine consists of a compression roller, a stainless-steel chain conveyor belt, and crushing rollers. The thermoplastic material extruded by the extruder is cooled and compressed by the compression roller into a 1–1.5 mm-thick strip; during conveyance, fans or purified, dried, cold air further cool the material until it solidifies. The cooled material is then crushed into flake-like pieces that fall into the hopper.
