The YPJ series crawler-type tablet-crushing machine consists of a compression roller, a stainless-steel chain conveyor belt, and crushing rollers. The thermoplastic material extruded by the extruder is cooled and compressed by the compression roller into a strip-shaped sheet 1–1.5 mm thick. During conveyance, the material is further cooled to a solid state using fans or purified, dried, cold air, after which the cooled material is crushed into flake-like pieces that fall into the hopper.
